The Plan Farm suckler herd comprises specialist beef breeds which include South Devon‚ Aberdeen Angus and Limousin. A sophisticated breeding programme is in place, which has been designed to produce a cross of all three breeds. The herd is outwintered and calves born in the spring and autumn are reared extensively on the farms sea-facing slopes and shorelines. At times when demand exceeds the supply from the Plan Farm suckler herd, livestock is selected from neighbouring island farms all meeting our specified high standards. Every consignment of Taste of Bute Beef is accompanied by a traceability certificate.
