Lamb is produced from the Scottish Blackface flock, which has
grazed the south end of the Isle of Bute for as long as living
memory can recall. The flock is hefted on to the rugged slopes
of Suidhe Chattain, Kelspoke‚ and Torr Mor running down to Glen
Callum and its sheltered wee bay.
Lambs are born in April, reared on their mothers until September
and then graze the extensive pastures on the in-bye fields of
Dunagoil and Garrochty. The delicate flavour of Taste of Bute
Lamb reflects our natural, extensive and environmentally friendly
farming philosophy. Not only does our traditional management benefit
livestock but also produces a grazed landscape, which is a walkers
paradise.
